Welcome to Apple Valley!
Apple Valley is a small but growing community located in San Bernardino County in the naturally beautiful Mohave Desert just east of the
San Bernardino Mountains. There are numerous explanations as to how Apple Valley got its' name, one claims it was named after a few apple
trees that used to grow alongside the Mojave River. In 1988 the residents incorporated the town into a legal city. The Parks and Recreation
District provides activities for all ages and operates many parks, a community center and gym. There are two 18 hole golf courses.
Apple Valley boasts some of the largest developements of executive housing in the area and once was the home of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
It is within easy reach of Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead, Las Vegas is a 2 1/2 hour drive.
The town is served by a network of interstate highways and the local Apple Valley Airport. Housing is still very affordable, the large lots
make rural living very inviting. Not too far away the mountain resorts offer a wide variety of winter activities and a professional baseball
stadium is just minutes away.
The Apple Valley Unified School District is one of the leading public school systems in the area. The well known Lewis Center for Educational
Research specializes in science and technology. There are also many excellent private schools in town.
The St. Mary Medical Center is the largest provider of health care in the High Desert with many advanced facilities. The town of Apple Valley
is working hard to balance the development of its commercial future and the small town aspect that many people look for.
